Christmas is now in our minds and as a retailer I have been thinking about it for weeks already! This year feels like it’s going to be a little different as the world had changed significantly in the last 12 months. With stock, raw material and packaging all in high demand, Brexit, Covid, the Haulage driver defect and a huge increase ins shipping times and costs this has created ‘the perfect storm’.
So with that in mind I, as an avid shopper myself and now an experienced retailer, thought I’d share with you my top tips for Christmas shopping.
Don’t wait – if you see something buy it! If it goes out of stock there’s a strong possibility that it may not be restocked.
Start now – the word is this year is going to be crazy busy when it comes to shopping, don’t leave it until the last minute.
Write a list – I love a list, it helps you focus your mind and stick to a budget!
Shop small – giving you the best opportunity to find some unusual and unique gifts plus you’ll be supporting thousands of independent businesses out there too.
Sign up for your favourite stores Newsletters – don’t miss out on product launches, offers and news from your favourite stores, you can unsubscribe any time. You can sign up to ours HERE
Use pre-order and collection options – we offer a pre-order service on so many of our gifts, just ask us about this service. You can also shop on our website HERE and use the “collect at The Piece Hall’ option at checkout and we will deliver locally free of charge or you can of course collect from our store in The Piece Hall.
Make a day of it – The Piece Hall is so magical at Christmas for all the family. So with, or without, the children, book lunch, grab your list and visit over 40 independent shops, bars and restaurants. Did you know that the train stops literally a 3 minute walk away and all the shops are undercover too!
